HealthEquity is looking for a passionate Associate Director of Privacy to join our team. HealthEquity’s services sit at the intersection of financial services, health care, and technology which creates a fantastic opportunity to mature a privacy program in a complex and unique privacy regulatory environment. HealthEquity’s services are subject to GLBA, HIPAA, and nearly every state privacy requirement. This is a strategic and hands on position that will work with business leadership across HealthEquity and its subsidiaries, with a particular focus on our Technology and Product areas, to enhance and implement (including effective education) a comprehensive privacy program.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Lead and develop an engaged team focused on privacy and data protection.
  • Work closely with the Legal / Risk Counsel, Software Development, Product, Information Security, and Marketing teams to assess current and potential privacy risks and privacy regulatory requirements for HealthEquity’s products and technologies.
  • Develop Privacy-by-Design strategies for products and technologies and drive business solutions.
  • Represent HealthEquity with regulators, industry groups, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead the continued development and improvement of all aspects of HealthEquity’s privacy program, including:
    • Enhancement of Privacy policy, procedures, privacy impact analysis, etc.
    • Monitoring of privacy program performance, compliance levels of internal and third-parties, performance of privacy training, etc. via appropriate KPIs and KRIs.
    • Maintain Privacy Notices and associated processes
    • Provide support for contract review and negotiation of information security and privacy requirements.
    • Works with corporate training and development to ensure delivery of privacy related training to team members in a way that is engaging and relevant.
    • May facilitate support of legal team in the review and negotiation of business associate agreements.

 

What you will need to be successful

 

 

  • J.D. degree required
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant privacy experience.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a comprehensive privacy program, including policies, procedures, and training.
  • Experience with technology (SaaS) products preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to advance large, complex projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent business judgment.
  • A detail-oriented, business-friendly team player who can think creatively.
  • Strong understanding and experience with federal financial, technology, and health care privacy laws and practices is required (e.g., HIPAA and GLBA), and ability to determine and clearly articulate applicable standards in an area of intersecting laws.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a great sense of humor and commitment to professionalism
  • Experience working collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Enjoys creating and participating a fun environment.
