How you can make a difference

This position reports to the Director of Accounting and will be responsible for preparing accounting analysis, journal entries, process documentation, continuous improvement, and participation in periodic internal and external audits. Further, this position will be responsible for the successful operation of accounting controls to ensure SOX compliance.  Successful candidates will be detail oriented, able to learn quickly, and able to adapt to change. The ability to productively work on cross-functional teams is also a must. Successful candidates will also have the ability to use continuous improvement in accounting process flow creation and documentation. What you’ll be doing

  • Assist with the accounting and amortization of assets and prepaid expenses
  • Assist with bank reconciliations
  • Perform analysis and properly account for accrued transactions
  • Document process flow and procedures with strong attention to detail
  • Play a key role in the month-end accounting close process
  • Reconcile Company credit card accounts
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Ensure SOX compliance
  • Innovate through continuous process improvement

 

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Accounting Degree preferred
  • 1 – 2 years experience in an Accounting required
  • Basic understanding of GAAP
  • Great attention to detail required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Technically minded
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Team player (works well with others) and an ability to take direction
  • Cross-functional work experience
  • Internal Audit experience a plus
