How you can make a difference

The Fraud Data Analyst uses SQL and other systems to research and analyze several data points to identify patterns and anomalies in customer behavior, account activity, and transactional data to detect new fraud attempts and trends. The Analyst interacts with direct leadership and other teams across the organization to report on and recommend new risk mitigation practices. The Analyst documents and evaluates results of queries to support fraud trending and ensures that best practices and adherence to fraud policies are followed.  The Analyst will work closely with leadership on fraud reporting to internal stakeholders.


What you’ll be doing

  • Utilize large amounts data to proactively identify fraud trends/issues and drive risk mitigation
  • Analyze transaction patterns to prevent fraudulent activity from occurring
  • Identify system gaps or potential improvements that lead to increased fraud risk
  • Creates queries and reports from multiple systems to support fraud processes as well as measure fraud risk and process gaps


What you will need to be successful

  • A relevant BA/BS degree or 2+ years of experience in a data analyst type role is required
  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to rapidly assimilate new information, identify fraud, risk, and process implications
  • Strong quantitative analytical abilities
  • Experience with SQL required
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong PC skills including MS PowerPoint, Project, Word, Visio, Outlook, and Visio.
  • Understanding of financial services, banking, and/or payment related processes, regulations, and systems is preferred
  • Understanding of healthcare financial accounts (HSA, HRA, and FSA) and healthcare insurance is highly desirable
  • Comfortable working in an ambiguous, changing environment
