The Senior Business Analyst will be working in one of the fastest growing industries (Healthcare Financial Management) and be part of the Product team.  The position requires flexibility and creativity in gathering and interpreting information and in translating that information into detailed user stories & use cases. Excellent analytical skills are required, with the ability to extract, analyze and report on information gleaned from internal databases, systems, and both internal and external resources. Your passion must be in improving current processes and systems, fixing what's broken, measuring performance, understanding of downstream dependencies, and working to "get things right".

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Gather, write, and maintain user stories for small to medium-scale development efforts
  • Assist with development and execution of test plans
  • Work through the entire software development lifecycle
  • Act as the primary project lead for certain small projects
  • Document product capabilities and serve as a product subject matter expertPerform quick impact and gap analyses
  • Develop recommendations based on analysis
  • Keep team members informed of items that impact their day to day duties
  • Participate in SCRUM team cadence meetings a work to clear impediments and enable team success
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What you will need to be successful

The Senior Business Analyst is expected to be as personable as they are smart - in other words, a computer geek with a personality. Applicants should have a BS/BA degree with preference given to mathematics, statistics, finance, accounting, or economics majors, and/or equivalent work experience (5+ years). In addition to educational requirements, applicants should also have the following qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience as an analyst, either in market research, product, or operations
  • 2+ years’ experience with developing business requirements  and executing user acceptance test plans for software
  • Highly adaptable, with ability to rapidly assimilate new information, translating into team and project implications
  • Strong PC skills including MS PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a preference for candidates with SQL experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to consult with users and understand, assess, and present their needs
  • An understanding of healthcare financial accounts (e.g. HSA, HRA, FSA) is highly desirable
  • A strong team player, well organized, and able to handle multiple assignments and responsibilities simultaneously
