The Director of Health Plan Relations will manage and support Healthequity’s health plan partners throughout the United States. This will be accomplished by strategically managing and growing HealthEquity's existing relationships with current health plan partners by adding accounts and/or new services, market strategy development, and contract negotiations.  The right team member will act as the partner advocate, increase partner satisfaction, identify needs and align those needs with HealthEquity products and services.  This position reports to the Vice President of Regional Sales and Health Plan Relations.

Success is measured by the region’s growth in account volume, health plan retention, increased partner penetration of their block of business and services, revenue growth, and partner satisfaction.  This position is expected to fully understand each partner’s CDH (consumer driven healthcare) strategy and how HealthEquity’s products and service offerings can closely align with those CDH account based needs.   The strategy developed by the Director - for both the region and the individual health plan partners - is tactically delivered by Regional Sales Directors in their region, with whom you will need to build a strong working relationship. The position is also measured by establishing key internal relationships with all departments in the organization in order to be able to respond to any nature of a client request.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide support and guidance to associated RSDs with regard to pipeline development, sales strategy, issue resolution and client procurement in a collaborative manner with our health plan partners
  • Cross sell additional HealthEquity products and services with assigned health plan partner(s).
  • Work to define sales and market strategy in conjunction with Health Plan Relationship team members, by assigned partner and communicate strategy to the executive team and respective subject matter experts.

  • Provide partners with strategic plans to meet mutual objectives.
  • Act as key lead and secondary point of escalation for health plan partner challenges and issues that are sales and marketing related.
  • Work with Health Plan sales and account management teams to identify blocks of business for additional product opportunities.
  • Serve as the Partner’s internal advocate. Ensure HealthEquity is delivering the service, support, and overall solutions as per the agreed upon terms.
  • Conduct specific product training sessions with partners to optimize product understanding.
  • Assist Regional Sales Directors and Enterprise Sales teams in aligning with partner sales and account manager teams.
  • Report at risk issues to aligned executives for timely resolution and assistance.
  • Conduct NPS (net promoter score) survey twice annually with Health Plan partners
  • Quality customer service is a top priority. Respect for partners, members, internal customers, team members and all other stakeholders, coupled with professional and ethical behavior at all times is a requirement.
  • Assist as necessary to present at finalist meetings and support in contract execution.
  • Participate in executive sales leadership quarterly meetings. 

 

 

What you will need to be successful

  • 4 year degree or equivalent job experience [7-10] years of experience
  • Full understanding of HealthEquity’s products and service platform
  • Experience with partner executive management and strategy development within the health care and health plan arenas
  • Sales/Account Management team management experience required
  • Full understanding and working knowledge of account on-boarding and partner management
  • Technical expertise as it relates to industry standard software and systems
  • Excellent organizational, supervisorial, managerial and leadership skills
  • Ability to inspire team members while holding them accountable to success
  • Relationship building and presentation skills
  • Expert service skills
  • Significant travel required (up to 50% of your time during peak season)
