    Our Internal Audit team provides services related to enhancing the value and effectiveness of HealthEquity’s risk management, governance, and control processes. This requires an understanding of our organization's mission, vision, values, strategy, objectives, and risks. We consider the risk management priorities, regulatory environment, and diverse needs of critical stakeholders including executive management, the board, team members (employees), and shareholders.

     

    What you’ll be doing

     

    Under general supervision from internal audit management, you will be responsible for preparing and implementing a risk-based audit plan to assess, report on, and make suggestions for improving the company’s key operational and finance activities (including governance and risk management) and internal controls. Additionally, the position is responsible for identifying and assisting in documenting existing internal finance and disclosure controls, recommending documenting new internal controls, and establishing an internal monitoring function to audit the company’s compliance with such internal controls. The position will have a key role in assessing the Company’s compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. The position will be further called on to identify and implement finance and operational departments process improvements.

    • Participate in all phases of financial and operational audits.
    • Assist management with identifying risks and formalizing controls.
    • Identify, understand, and document processes and procedures surrounding internal controls. Continually monitor and update the assessment of the control environment, keeping abreast of significant control issues, trends, and developments.
    • Understand the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (and any related SEC and PCAOB pronouncements).
    • Monitor and audit the company’s compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
    • Assist internal audit leadership with preparing and updating a comprehensive risk-based audit plan for evaluating the effectiveness of controls in place to manage significant risk exposures related to the integrity and reliability of information and financial reporting, safeguarding of company assets, and compliance with laws and regulations.
    • Identify and understand key indicators of fraud.
    • Report audit findings to internal audit leadership and senior management.
    • Monitor and assist with remediation efforts.
    • Coordinate activities with external auditors to support their audit and review procedures.
    • Review business processes and suggest ways to improve and/or gain efficiencies.
    • Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned.

    What you will need to be successful

     

    • 1 to 2 years of related work experience (at least 1 year of audit experience preferred)
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (relevant master’s degree preferred)
    • Preferred CIA certification
    • Ethical resilience in professional and personal conduct
    • Ability to adapt with changing priorities and project ambiguity
    • Ability to work both in a team setting and independently
    • Flexibility to work on multiple, diverse, financial, and operational audits/projects
    • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills and programs such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
    • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
    • Strong task management skills to determine priority and deliver quality results on time
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Capable of self-direction
