The position is responsible for designing and building data solutions critical to our company’s data strategy. The successful candidate will perform a broad range of tasks, from mapping business problems to data solutions and technologies, designing data models, leading solution design, and implementing modern data platforms. 

 

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Lead the data modernization roadmap and architect solutions to meet business and technology requirements.  
  • Implement modern data engineering solutions in a complex technology environment. 
  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various data domains, such as transactional, analytical, operational, and reporting. Focus will be on analytical and reporting domains.  
  • Document and maintain data definitions, metadata, data dictionaries, data lineage, and data standards. 
  • Perform data analysis and profiling to identify data sources, data relationships, data quality issues, and data gaps. 
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand the business needs and data requirements. 
  • Implement and enforce data modeling best practices, guidelines, and methodologies.  
  • Guide data platform’s citizen developers to adopt standards and best practices in developing data products. 
  • Evangelize the reuse of integrated and semantic data objects, and minimize business logic in user objects and reports.  
  • Build best practices across the organization for managing `data as a product`. 
  • Work with application development teams to ensure that modernized transactional databases follow best practices for primary keys, kitchen attributes, etc. so that they can be easily integrated into the data platform. 
  • Introduce standard methodologies and principles around data governance to enable alignment with data management policies 
  • Analyze impacts to data warehouse from modernizing transactional systems. 
  • Create a plan to migrate legacy data warehouse objects into data platform, including all downstream dependencies. 
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data model performance and optimization issues. 
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data modeling and data management. 

 

 

What you will need to be successful 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data warehousing, data modeling, data analysis, and data management. 
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing and architecting databases and data integrations that are scalable, maintainable, testable, and highly performant.  
  • Proficient in data modeling tools, such as ER Studio, ERwin, or Toad Data Modeler. 
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques and methodologies, such as dimensional modeling, star schema, snowflake schema, and data vault. 
  • Expertise in data warehouse, data lake, and data mart concepts and architectures. 
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL. 
  • Knowledge of programming languages common to Data and Analytics (e.g., Python, DBT, C#).  
  • Knowledge of big data systems, such as Databricks, Delta Lake, Apache Spark, Snowflake, Redshift.  
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP). 
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems, such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB. 
  • Advanced knowledge of data integration, data quality, and data governance principles and practices. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas to various audiences.

Salary Range

$127000.00 To $203500.00 / year

The compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
