We’re seeking an experienced and innovative Sr Manager of Fraud Strategy and Analytics to lead a talented team in solving complex fraud problems through data-driven strategies. This role is pivotal in transforming our fraud prevention and detection efforts from reactive to proactive, optimizing decision engines, and developing sophisticated tools to mitigate fraud risks and protect our members.

 

What you'll be doing

Leadership and Team Development

Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of fraud analysts and data professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Elevate the team’s technical and analytical skills, ensuring they are equipped to tackle sophisticated fraud challenges.

Provide strategic direction to the team, aligning their efforts with organizational objectives and fraud prevention goals.

Fraud Strategy and Optimization

Develop and implement data-driven strategies to prevent and detect fraud across all channels.

Transform fraud analysis from a reactive approach to a proactive, predictive model by leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning techniques.

Optimize fraud decision engines, ensuring rules and models are continuously refined to improve accuracy and reduce false positives.

Identify and implement more sophisticated fraud detection tools and technologies to stay ahead of emerging fraud schemes.

Data-Driven Insights and Problem Solving

Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that signal potential fraud risks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, risk, legal, and product, to share insights and drive fraud mitigation strategies.

Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership to strengthen the organization’s fraud defenses.

Technical Expertise and Innovation

Utilize technical expertise in SQL, data analysis, and decision engine management to solve complex fraud challenges.

Champion the adoption of advanced analytics tools and methodologies to enhance fraud detection and prevention capabilities.

Lead the design, testing, and implementation of new fraud detection models, algorithms, and systems.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to integrate fraud prevention strategies into broader business processes.

Represent the Fraud Strategy and Analytics team in cross-functional meetings, projects, and initiatives.

Stay ahead of industry trends, fraud tactics, and regulatory developments to inform strategies and ensure compliance.

 

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in fraud prevention, data analytics, or risk management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience querying and analyzing large datasets.
  • Strong understanding of fraud decision engines, including rules-based and machine-learning models, with experience in optimization and management.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, Tableau, or similar).
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering technical growth and innovation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience in fraud prevention within financial services, healthcare, or payments industries.
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and their application in fraud detection.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to fraud and financial crimes.

Salary Range

$127000.00 To $165,000.00 / year

The compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. This position will be eligible for performance-based incentives as part of the total compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits including:
