Overview

How you can make a difference  

The Sr. Enterprise Project Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, documenting and managing highly complex, mission critical projects from concept to delivery. Projects have enterprise focus and incumbents work closely to collaborate with internal leaders and subject matter experts to deliver projects against performance measures and defined deadlines. This position acts as a liaison ensuring consistent communication of status of projects is conveyed across the organization.     

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Develops project charter that includes specifications and objectives from initiation to delivery for complex projects. This entails interfacing with organizational leaders to define scope to meet objectives, develop project schedules, and develop capacity and resource requirements.
  • Drives the life cycle of the project in addition to preparing, maintaining, and updating project plans, agendas, and systems set-up for projects. This includes determining project steps, activities, sequence of events, dependencies, managing project risks, and the duration of tasks by engaging various levels of the organization and subject matter experts. On a regular basis, updates the project plan and provides to project leadership.
  • Prepares and delivers regular executive level steering committee updates. Requires being well-versed in all aspects of the project and delivers updates with confidence.
  • Intakes information to become well versed on the business needs, considering the processes and services available and able to synthesize and position this information in a meaningful way to the team.
  • Identifies appropriate resources needed ensuring availability necessary for project deliverables. Manages resource needs and tasks within respective departments, other internal departments, and outside service provides. This may include collaboration with functional department managers to assemble project teams.
  • Focus and ownership on all project matters. Assigns and documents project responsibilities ensuring that activity, integration, and productivity are employed in the most efficient manner while meeting project targets. Manages resources within respective business areas (as it relates to deliverables) as well as materials committed to the projects to ensure that project milestones are met and completed on time.
  • Serves as a central point of contact to routinely relay, facilitate and keep stakeholders apprised of the project’s status and respond to questions or inquiries regarding the project. Maintains open communications and relationships with the project team, coordinating and conducting meetings as appropriate. Conducts risk assessment of strategic, technical, financial, or business factors affecting the project. Monitors project deliverables and progress through the duration of the project plan, managing deviations as appropriate, including project scope. Identifies factors jeopardizing the project and escalates issues as appropriate, recommending solutions to senior project team members and leaders.
  • Conducts post project reviews (retrospectives) with participation and guidance from management team to capture learnings and identify areas for future improvement and updates to project and program methodology.
  • Plans and allocates project manager capacity as needed to execute large, complex initiatives requiring more than one project manager.
  • Mentors Enterprise Project Managers I and II in project execution including sharing of best practices, attending project meetings for post meeting feedback and coaching.
  • Leads the implementation of continuous improvement, including defining and implementing best practices and tools that support the project lifecycle in concert with program leadership.
  • Proficiently drives partner and drive vendor relations as it relates to projects and potential RFP processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will need to be successful

Education and Experience:

  • 8 to 10+ years experience as a Project/Program Manager
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required, Lean Six Sigma (LSSG), or agile certification, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the benefits industry is preferred.

  • Able to persuade others by understanding their needs and perspectives and with that builds a compelling case for solving the issue or task at hand
  • Accurately assesses the project skills, knowledge and motivation of individuals
  • Aware of other’s styles and adjust accordingly
  • Brings together the appropriate audience for problem-solving, planning and decision making and adeptly drives cross functional collaboration

Salary Range

$99500.00 To $129500.00 / year
