With general direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment and discretion, this position will collect business information and mold it into useful decisions for Product. As a Product Owner, reporting to a Product manager, this position works cross functionally with technology, sales, marketing, operations, engineering and product development on road-mapping and launching strategies. This position plays a key role in defining product capabilities and how to satisfy real-world customer needs an delivering value to our external users. The Product Owner is also responsible for supporting our service delivery teams. This focus on service delivery extends to finding ways to build self-service capabilities into our applications and solutions. The Product Owner is the primary connection between strategic product leaders and product capabilities needed to achieve outcomes. Passion for understanding market drivers and proactively aligning them to user scenarios and product capabilities.

 

What you’ll be doing (Job Duties & Responsibilities)

  • Collaborate with Product Managers to understand the market demands, priorities, and overall product strategy
  • Work with one or more engineering teams to deliver timely, quality releases that provide high business value and exceed customer expectations
  • Work closely with the Product Managers and cross-functional partners to define, prune and prioritize the product backlog to ensure alignment with changing business needs
  • Collaborate with technical engineering leadership to ensure key architectural roadmap items are represented in the product backlog
  • Become the primary source for user story details and priorities for your team and partners
  • Work with your team and Product Managers to build, document, and accept user stories based on well-defined acceptance criteria
  • Partner with internal partners to define and implement comprehensive plans for customer Beta programs
  • Support efforts in acquiring and breaking down feature requirements into product results
  • Collaborates with the team(s) to define release scope, overall design approach, and delivery plan
  • May be assigned other duties as needed or apparent

What you will need to be successful (Skills, Knowledge, & Experience)

  • High School Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Computer or Business equivalent field preferred
  • Knowledge of creation of software products or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in business requirements of agile Product Ownership. Experience should include flow modeling, extracting and sharing knowledge from SMEs.
  • Experience in user stories process flow is preferred
  • Formal writing experience is highly desired
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) credentials a plus
  • Business insight that enables decision making around problem-solving and prioritization
  • Strong technical understanding and attention to detail
  • Ability to support and lead teams
  • Exceptional listening, written, presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of agile and SAFE is also required
  • A strong customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing demands of business
  • Proficiency with business and communications software (preferably Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio common Windows operating systems, and Outlook) is required
  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of data base structures
  • Knowledge of Aha! tools and Team Foundation Server (TFS) a Plus
  • Ability to articulate and explain the value of middleware
  • Knowledge and experience with Identify Access Management (IAM) technologies

Salary Range

$92000.00 To $117,000.00 / year

The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
