How you can make a difference  

The Product GM responsible for core platforms is a senior product leader who defines and leads the strategy, vision, and growth of a company’s foundational product offerings or technical platform suites. This role oversees cross-functional product teams, aligns platform development with business objectives, and ensures scalable and reliable delivery for users and enterprise customers. This GM will lead product management for all the “horizontal” capabilities such as identity, file management, messaging services, APIs, fraud, member enrollment and other foundational features that enable “vertical” product lines such as HSAs, Ras, COBRA and Commuter

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Shape and evangelize the long-term direction for core platforms, ensuring alignment with individual product lines, overall business and customer needs.
  • Roadmap Ownership: Build and prioritize product roadmaps for foundational platform capabilities, balancing near-term optimization with long-term innovation and scalability.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of product managers and domain experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to deliver cohesive platform experiences and accelerate business impact.
  • Customer Advocacy: Champion a customer-centric approach, leveraging user feedback and research to guide platform priorities and future investments.
  • Performance Measurement: Define key metrics for success (KPI, adoption, revenue, retention) and regularly communicate progress to executive stakeholders.
  • Market Insight and Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, perform competitive analysis, and lead the team in exploring new platform opportunities or enhancements.
  • Executive Presence and Communication: Represent the team in discussions with executive leadership and key internal/external stakeholders
  • Budget and Resource Allocation: Oversee budgets and resource deployment for platform development and ongoing operations.

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management 
  • Proven success in scaling platform product portfolios or technical product lines.
  • Proven success in delivering “core platform” capabilities supporting multiple product lines
  • Strong technical background (prior experience in software development/technical leadership/technical business analysis strongly preferred)
  • Prior experience managing teams of managers of product managers/business analysts strongly preferred
  • Experience in cloud-based technologies (containerization, micro services..) strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership experience managing distributed product teams.
  • Deep understanding of platform architecture and SaaS business models.
  • Expertise in using data and market insights for decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills for executive alignment and cross-team coordination.

Salary Range

$151500.00 To $200,000.00 / year
