Overview

How you can make a difference  

As a Principal Product Manager on the Platform team, you will shape and deliver foundational capabilities that support the growth and scale of our product portfolio. By driving complex, cross‑functional technical initiatives with clarity and discipline, you enable product teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences, accelerate innovation, and unlock new business opportunities through scalable, reusable platform solutions.

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Develop and execute platform‑level product strategy, vision, and roadmaps aligned with company priorities and long‑term growth objectives.
  • Lead large, cross‑functional technical initiatives, partnering with engineering, architecture, security, design, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable capabilities.
  • Drive the development of shared platform capabilities (e.g., platform services, internal products, or reusable components) consumed by multiple product teams.
  • Own system integration patterns across the platform, including API‑based and file‑based data exchange.
  • Define product requirements and success metrics, translating complex technical and business needs into clear, actionable outcomes.
  • Prioritize work based on customer impact, business value, technical feasibility, and platform sustainability.
  • Drive collaboration and alignment across teams to ensure effective execution and delivery of platform initiatives.
  • Monitor and measure platform performance, using data and insights to inform decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to inform platform strategy and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert for platform capabilities, providing guidance and support to product, engineering, and partner teams.
  • Mentor and support other product managers, contributing to strong product management practices and a culture of accountability and ownership.

 

 

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex or technically‑oriented initiatives.
  • Experience delivering system integrations, including APIs and file-based data exchange.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing product strategies that drive business growth and enable scalable solutions while supporting high‑quality customer and user experiences.
  • Strong ability to lead and influence cross‑functional teams in a highly technical, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive prioritization, decision‑making and measuring product success.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with experience conveying complex concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience working in agile environments and familiarity with modern product development lifecycle practices.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning mindset, with the ability to apply emerging technologies and industry trends to real product and platform challenges.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity, exercising sound judgment, and taking accountability for outcomes at a principal level.

Salary Range

$133,000.00 To $173,000.00 / year

The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. Onboarding & Travel

This is a remote role, with an in-person onboarding training component. New team members must participate in Trailhead, HealthEquity’s immersive onboarding experience Trailhead is designed to foster meaningful connections, support your integration into the organization, and equip you with a strong understanding of our business. Trailhead participation is a key expectation of this role. Trailhead is held onsite at our headquarters once per quarter. HealthEquity covers all required travel and accommodations. 

 

This role may begin with a virtual, self-paced onboarding experience, followed by a mandatory onsite Trailhead session at a later date.
